This will be my final newsletter of 2015. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the members and visitors of Hassocks Golf Club for a fantastic year at the Club, and wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. I will be spending my Christmas at home with my children and family and I'm sure it will be a very special Christmas, with my son Sebastian celebrating his first one.
What a year 2015 has been for me personally. In June I opened my second pro shop at Pyecombe Golf Club. Just seven weeks later my wife, Allison, gave birth to our second child Sebastian and last month we opened the Indoor Swing Studio at the Golf Club.
At September's AGM, Denys Cole, owner of Hassocks Golf Club, also announced the good news that another year's full membership will be available from 1st April 2016 to 31st March 2017. The plans for the re-development of Hassocks Golf Club continue to move along behind the scenes and I would expect to put in our planning application in late February 2016. Whilst the original plans were to move forward far quicker than our current pace, we are working to the constraints of the emerging Neighbourhood Plan of Hassocks Parish Council.
What will 2016 hold?
Do you have any New Year's resolutions planned for 2016? Mine is the same as it has been for the last few years! To practice my golf more! Unfortunately every year, like most people, I have failed miserably. I'm very hopeful that this year I will be able to stick to my New Year's resolution with the Swing Studio facility available. No longer is bad weather and short day light hours an excuse for not practicing and playing through the winter. This applies to you too…
If you would like to hire out the Swing Studio for private use it is now available. The cost is £30 for the first hour and £15 per hour for every hour after. Why not get a fourball together and play one of the world's top golf courses. Click here to book in now!
The pro shop will be open until 4.30pm on Christmas Eve, which is ideal for any last minute Christmas shopping. Avoid the masses in town! The Club and Course will be closed on Christmas Day and Boxing and we will re-open on Sunday, 27 December.
Silent Charity Auction
The auction will close this weekend, so get your bids in before Sunday. As well as the previously mentioned two items, being the fourball for Princes Club in Sandwich and the signed Brighton Shirt, we have had a donation of four tickets for the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth in May. The tickets will be for the day of your choice (Sunday would be£200 ) Please bid high to avoid disappointment, and all proceeds will be going to this year's charity 'The Alzheimer's Society'.
