Do you set the golf club correctly atthe top of your backswing?
Do not under-estimate the importance of thebackswing when playing golf. Setting the club inthe correct position at the top of the backswingmakes the downswing far more straight forward, meaning greater consistency and accuracy. Thiswinter, in the Swing Room, I have seen a trendof golfers setting the club in a 'weak'position. This will result in a loss of power, distance and accuracy.
Doyou make the same mistakes?
Erroll, pictured below, has started on a package oflessons to resolve this in his swing. Picturedleft, you can see that his left wrist iscupped/bent and the clubface is pointing towardsthe floor. This will result in an openclubface at impact and a slice.
Inthe second photo above you can see Erroll's newposition at the top of the backswing. He has aflat left wrist angle resulting in a strongerclubface position at the top of his backswingand through impact, meaning more powerand great accuracy.
