Odyssey Golf has recently opened a newstate-of-the-art Performance Centre inCallaway's HQ at Chessington. This facilitygives golfers a FREE high-tech putter-fittingexperience, previously only enjoyed by TourPros.

Thenew centre will give golfers full access to thecomplete Odyssey product line and offer them theopportunity to be fitted to a putter that willhelp them get the best out of their game.Marrying data collected from two systems, theSAM PuttLab - using highly accurate ultrasoundmeasurements and 3D imagery to track the puttingstroke - and Quintic® high-speed biomechanicalvideo analysis software, Odyssey fitting expertswill be able to scientifically fit a customer toa putter like never before.

Last week I announced the news that LeeBaker will be leaving thePro-Shop team on the 6th April and relocating toSpain.

Thisweek I would like to introduce you to hisreplacement, Rob McGrory.Rob is currently working at Rusper Golf Club,where his has worked for several years. Robis a level 2 PGA Qualified Professional and isalready looking forward to helping many of youwith your golf. Rob is localto Hassocks, living in Brighton and grew upplaying his amateur golf at West Hove Golf Club.

Rob will be starting fromMid-April, please pop in to the Pro-Shop andintroduce yourself to him.




March Mid-Week Stableford

OnTuesday the March Mid-Week was held at the clubin conditions that resembled the start ofspring! Warmth could be felt in the air and afirmness under foot, all very welcome after along wet winter. Club stalwart BrianAustin took advantage of theconditions and led a good field home with 40points. Three players shared second spot with 38points and could only be separated by countback.Club Champion Danny Burchellclaimed second spot and had his handicap reducedto 3 in the process, with ChrisCrook winning the bronze medalahead on Lucas Durrant.Well played to you all. The competition standardscratch score for the day was 69.

Following his competition performance Brian'shandicap was reduced to (16.7) 17.

No 2's were recorded during the competitionmeaning a roll-over pot of £48 goes forward tothe next Mid-Week competition. 

Ryder Cup

LastSunday witnessed the playing of the re-scheduled2015 Ryder Cup at Hassocks Golf Club, with theCaptain's Team verses the Pro's Team. I had thepleasure of playing with and against the currentcaptain Andy Taylorand vice-captain Mark Page,my partner was immediate past captain PaulMayes.

Despite strong resistance from Pauland I we came up against a man in very goodform; Mark's 3 pars over thefirst three holes all for nett birdies set thetone for the day, including a holed bunker shotfrom Mark on the third! Theend score finishing 2 & 1. Unfortunately myteam followed my example with the end scorefinishing 6 ½ to 4 ¼ in favour of the Captain'sTeam.

This is the fourth year in a row the Captain'sTeam has won the trophy. I will be tryingespecially hard to win the trophy back inSeptember in the 2016 event. I will be on thelookout for any bandits to play on my team!
