Summer Knockouts
The entry lists for the summer knockouts are now open. This year we have moved the Medal Matchplay to a summer competition instead of the Men's Singles - this decision was taken as it is a very difficult format to play in the winter with possible plugged and lost balls in the rough. Please register and pay in the office, the price is £6 per person for each competition - Medal Matchplay, Summer Pairs and Mixed Pairs. I intend to hold a Finals Day on Saturday, 3 September for the all three competitions to be concluded on this date with a reception for the finalists after their rounds. Please put this date in your diary if you enter the competition.
Summer League
As mentioned in a previous newsletter, I am planning a Summer League open to all sections. Anyone signing up (£6 entry) will be able to play against any other member that has signed up, you can choose to sign-up at any stage over the summer but earlier the better to get more games in giving you more chances to gain points. You can only play the same opponent twice (to allow rematches for revenge). You can play as many or as few matches against the other participants as you wish over the summer (April 1st till 31st August) on any day you wish to arrange them and make use of the long summer evenings we are due…..I hope. I will score it 3 points for a win, 2 point for a halved match 1 for a loss. Hand in your scorecard signed by both players to either myself or the office for me to update the League Table that will be displayed in the clubhouse.
