To coincide with the launch of Srixon's latest ball, I'm delighted to announce this fantastic introductory offer. Purchase a sleeve of three Srixon UltiSoft balls and receive a 2-ball pack FREE. Hurry this offer is only available whilst stocks last.
What Srixon has to say about its new ball:
'The UltiSoft is designed specifically for golfers with low to mid swing speeds who are looking for the ultimate in feel without sacrificing distance. The super-low compression of our softest ever E.G.G core delivers an incredibly soft feel whilst maintaining maximum initial ball speed to generate longer, straighter distance.'
Winter Eclectic - As winter is now over, the second quarter of the Winter Eclectic leagues has been completed with only four of the six competitions completed due to the weather. The gross competition was won by Tim Osman (70) and runner-up on count back Mark Page (70). The nett competition was won for the second time by the man in-form, Mark Page (53), with the runner-up being Stuart Allbury. The winners will get £20 on their shop account and runners up £10. Congratulations and well played Mark at the top of both lists.
Junior Section - We held a raffle to raise funds for the junior section which was drawn at the Easter Meeting. Firstly, thank you to all that bought tickets - we raised a magnificent amount of £85 profit, the lucky winner of the SkyCaddie watch was Nick Griffin. Ann Austin drew the winning ticket whilst we waited for the last brave souls to return to the clubhouse after the Easter Cup.
Team Competitions - Good luck to both the Scratch and Exclusive Teams starting their summer campaigns this Saturday. Both teams have tough away fixtures, the Scratch Team at Mannings Heath and the Exclusive at The Nevill in Tunbridge Wells. Let's hope for great weather and great results.
New 5th Tee
I'm very pleased to share with you the new view from the 5th white tee. After many years of planning and building, new Head Greenkeeper Richard turfed it recently. The look over the new ponds between the 4th and 5th presents a very intimidating view. It will also add over 30 yards to the hole, very challenging into the normal prevailing wind. Unfortunately it will not be open for a month or so while the new turf knits in but we are very hopeful to have it in play before the Club Championship in July.
Congratulations to Joe Leonard who continued his good form to return a fantastic score of nett 63 to win the April Midweek Medal on Tuesday. Joe led the field home by a comfortable margin of five shots in lovely weather. Club Champion Danny Burchell finished second with a gross score of 71, level par, nett 68. Geoff Hydes completed the top three with a one-under-par nett score of 70. Congratulations to Brian Austin who won the 2s sweep with the only two during the competition, collecting £28 in the process. The competition standard scratch score remained unchanged on the day at 69. Following his performance in the competition Joe's handicap was reduced by two shots from 17 to 15 (15.0). Well played, Joe.
The sun is out, it's a beautiful morning so summer must be here………surely? The summer knockouts and league sign-up sheets are with Greg in the office, it would be great to see as many names as possible out playing. We would like to get the draw done and on the board for the weekend of the 30th April, as it's a bank holiday, this gives you three days to maybe get the 1st games played.
