Mid-Week Medal 

Congratulations to Olly Cookwho won the May Mid-Week Medal last Tuesday.Olly returned a fantastic score of one over pargross (71) nett 65 to win the competition. Ollyshared the podium with 2 of Hassocks' longeststanding senior members, I won't state thenumber of years between them but it would make areasonable cricket score! Second was MalcolmCombes with a very good score of nett69 and completing the top three was BrianAustin with a nett 71. 

Following his performance Olly had his handicapreduced by one shot to 5.3, entering intoCategory one is the process. Well played Olly. 

Mike Haselip Memorial 

Last Monday Hassocks' Senior Section played theMike Haselip Memorial Stableford. Mike was aformer Hassocks member and captained the SeniorsSection. He tragically died from a huge heartattack whilst playing golf at Hassocks a numberof years ago. 

Every year the seniors section plays a memorialcompetition and the trophy is presented by JeanHaselip, Mike's wife. This year Mike's son alsoplayed in the competition with SeniorsCaptain Martin Tigg. 

John Franks claimed first prize with a very goodscore of 39 points, beating former winner of thecompetition Stephen Agar intosecond place by 2 points. Never wanting to missout seeing his name in my weekly newsletter,that man again, BrianAustin sneaked into third place with35 points beating Dave Green oncountback.
