Putting Lab
We have now had our Putting Lab open for a month, thank you to everyone who has taken advantage of the technology by booking a putting lesson and custom fit. During this time I have started to see a common theme amongst many of the golfers I have seen. I would like to share this with you; hopefully it will help you with your own putting.
When putting, from any length, your left shoulder should be far higher than your right. This allows for your left arm to hang down in a straight line creating a pendulum. The left wrist should be flat and facing the target.
Many pupils I have seen have their left wrist angle cupped and 'flick' the put with their right hand. This will result in pulling the putt and a variable distance control off the putter face.

Next time you are on the putting green give it a try…

S1 DHC Trolley
Thinking all buying a new trolley?
We have the ideal trolley for you now in stock, take the strain out of using an electric trolley with Motocaddy's new DHC trolley.
Following an extensive upgrade for 2016, the brand new S1 incorporates a number of improvements including a soft-touch ergonomic handle; low-profile, quick-release wheels; a streamlined battery tray; and the super-fast QUIKFOLD assembly mechanism.
Add these to the nine speed settings, battery indicator and whisper-quiet motor, plus adjustable bag supports and compatibility with the popular EASILOCK system and it's easy to see why the S1 is the world's favourite electric golf trolley.
What does DHC technology offer?
Offering all the features of the standard S1, the additional 'DHC' (Downhill Control) functionality means that your trolley will also maintain a constant speed whilst travelling down hills - even on the steepest of slopes. The S1 DHC can also boast an easy-to-use electronic parking brake.

Summer Singles Matchplay
Congratulations to Chris Riggs who recently won the Men's Summer Singles Matchplay. Chris played John Franks in the final, a man in good form this year, but managed to come out triumphant.
Chris has worked very hard at his game this year, putting in hours of practice on the range. Chris embarked on a series of lessons throughout the season and we have changed his swing and ball flight considerably. Chris' old swing was always too steep and across the line resulting in a left to right ball flight (slice). After much work Chris has started to see the fruits of his labour, hitting the ball far straighter and further.
A huge congratulations to Chris.
Ben Deacon Memorial
Congratulations to Lyle Ammon on winning the Ben Deacon Memorial. Lyle returned an excellent score of 43 points; despite this fantastic score it was only good enough to win the competition on countback. Charlie Mayhew finished with the same score but lost out with 19 points to 21 over the back nine. Matt Platt continued the excellent scoring on the day, taking advantage of the good weather and the course in fantastic condition, taking the final place on the podium with 42 points.
Charlie continued his brilliant day by returning one of three 2's achieved during the competition, the other two players were Ian Martin and Martin Copperwheat. All the players shared the pot worth £21 each.
Following their excellent scores all of the top three had their handicaps cut. Lyle and Charlie by 2 shots with Lyle being cut from 18 to 16 and Charlie from 16 to 14. Matt had his handicap reduced by one shot from 16 to 15. Well played to you all.
