August Midweek Stableford
Congratulations to Martin Tigg (pictured here) on winning the August Midweek Stableford by 5 points.
On a day where the rest of the field found scoring difficult, Martin returned with a score of 43 points. Tim Osman finished second on count back with 38 points, a very good score playing off a handicap of six. Stuart Allbury finished third on the day, losing to Tim's 20 points on the back nine verses his own score of 19 points.
The competition standard scratch for the day remained the same at 68. Martin's handicap was reduced by one shot from 16 to 15 (14.5).
For the second competition in a row no 2's were scored, as a result the midweek 2's pot will be a rollover. The next competition is on Tuesday 2nd September - Midweek Medal.

The Juniors vs The Seniors
Last Thursday witnessed the annual battle between the Junior Section and the Seniors Section. The match is contested with more spirit than the Ryder Cup with generational pride at stake.
This is the third year the trophy has been competed for with each section claiming the prize once. This year the honours were shared with the match finishing 2-2. Ian Smith and Pete Ridden won the opening match by 4&3. Geoff Barden and Paul Bristow showed no mercy to their young opponents winning by 5&4, putting the seniors 2 points up with 2 matches still to finish.
However Jack Beuttell-Triggs and Robert White started the fight back winning their match by 4&3, and Lucas and Lloyd Durrant levelled the match winning their game by the score of 4&2.
Congratulations to the Junior Team who finished second at the latest Dockerill's Junior League match. The conditions on the day were very difficult and junior organiser Laurie Cassar was delighted with the performance of the team, team members on the day were Lloyd Durrant, Connor Mahoney and Jack Beuttrell-Triggs. Special congratulations to Connor who also won the nearest to the pin competition. The fantastic result has moved the junior team up to second place in the overall standings; the junior team are mounting a creditable defence of the title they won last year.
Last Tuesday Hassocks Golf Club hosted its first county match. It was a great honour for the county to ask Hassocks to hold the match; it is recognition of the huge improvements Hassocks has made to the golf course and the fantastic condition of the course and the greens.
The match was a junior under 16's triangle league match played between Sussex, Surrey and Essex. After the first two games played away from home Sussex held a one point advantage. The match consisted of 9 holes foursomes and 18 holes singles, unfortunately Sussex were unable to maintain their advantage with Surrey winning the match. Hassocks' junior section was represented in the Sussex team by Lucas Durrant.
