Equipment Survey Results Last month I asked you to complete an Equipment Survey, thank you to the 88 people who replied to the questionnaire. The results have provided some very interesting data. Over the course of the next few weeks and months I will be highlighting some of the stand out results and trends. The results will enable me to provide you a better service and increase your performance and enjoyment of the game.
'A Better Golf Game is the Best Value'
One questioned asked in the survey was: Where do you buy your golf equipment?
I'm pleased to report that 58% of people answered from a golf course pro shop but 16% answered from a high street retailer and 20% answered from an internet retailer. I therefore asked myself the question why? I believe the answer is:
Choice
Price
Convenience
However, I believe we are able to compete, and better, the high street retailer and internet retailer on all of these factors as I will explain below.
Choice and Convenience
We will never be able to hold the same amount of stock in store that is available online. However, are you aware we have our own online store - click here to see for yourself. We have a far wider selection available online compared to in store. You can select to have your product delivered to home or to store using our Click and Collect service. The product will then be waiting for you next time you play golf - what could be more convenient!?
Price
We are happy to match any genuine online or high street price! In many cases, we have been able to better the online or high street price.
But why buy from a Pro Shop?
Next time you are considering making a purchase please give you local pro shop a try.....

England Golf Survey
England Golf and the other Home Unions have commissioned a piece of research into handicapping and participation in competition for both Golf Clubs and Golfers. To help them shape the direction of the handicapping system and support their discussions with CONGU.
This will be being sent out to all affiliated Clubs and Golfers on the England Golf Members Database in the next two weeks as well as promoted on social media and the England Golf Website, the results are to be collated by the 21st November, in time for the next CONGU Board Meeting.
England Golf is offering entry in to a prize draw for any Golfer or England Golf Affiliated Club who completes the survey before the closing date. You will find the link to the England Golf Handicapping page of the website where the surveys are situated by clicking here.
Please note that the Golfers survey is open to member and non-members.

November Stableford
Last Saturday Jon Aikens won the November Stableford with a fantastic score of 42 points in difficult conditions. Jon recorded victory by one point from Rikki Jackson. Matthew Platt finished third on count back from Martin Higgins, both with 40 points. Four 2's were recorded during the competition by Tom Aye-Moung, Keith Fisher, Howard Burt and Rikki Jackson. Unfortunately, Keith had not entered the 2's sweep therefore the 2's pot was spilt by three and each player won £32.66. The competition standard scratch score remained unchanged on the day at 68. The top four players (Jon, Rikki, Matthew and Martin) all had their handicaps reduced by one shot following their performances in the competition. Well played all.
Ladies' Results
Judith Leeves had a month to remember as she won Division One in both the October Stableford and the October Medal. Caroline Snelgrove won Division Two in the October Stableford with Joy Bellamy winning Division Two in the October Medal.
The last two of this year's trophy events took place in October.
First was the weekend Charity Shield where six ladies took part and raised the sum of £26 for this year's charity. The winner, on a blustery day, was Margaret Crook (pictured here).
The final trophy event of the year was Jane's Jug. This is a trophy presented annually by former Ladies' Captain Jane Rogers and was won this year by Ann Austin.
