For anyone who missed last week's newsletter, firstly shame on you! Secondly:

Congratulations to Duncan Brant who won the April Stableford last weekend. Duncan returned a fantastic score of 40 points to win the competition by one point. Michael Barclay claimed second with Chris Riggs completing the top three with 38 points. The twos pot was shared by four players on the day: Wade Ayling, John Franks, Jake Gabell and Rob Temple-Smithson. Each player won a share of the pot worth £21.50.
Following his competition performance, Duncan (pictured below) had his handicap reduced by two shots from 18 to 16 (16.3). The competition standard scratch score increased by one shot to 70, this reflected the difficult playing conditions experienced by the players.
Charity Cheque Presentation - Last Thursday morning Club Captain Paul Mayes and Junior Organiser Laurie Cassar visited Whoopasdiasy - the club's chosen for the year. As Brighton Junior League Champions the junior section won £250 for their chosen charity. I know the money was greatly appreciated by Whoopasdiary - pictured above.
Parafix Winter League - Following the final Parafix Winter League game of the season, Singing Hills moved above Hassocks to claim first place. Having completed their games Hassocks could only watch the result to see the outcome; unfortunately Singing Hills won their match and were crowned league champions.
Congratulations to Team Captain Steve Baugh for all his effort throughout the campaign and to every member who represented Hassocks in all the matches. The team completed the year with a 100% home record, hopefully they can continue their excellent home form when Hassocks hosts the Parafix Gala Day on Sunday, 3 May.
Night Golf - The sign-up sheet for Night Golf is now on the notice board in the main entrance of the clubhouse. For the first time it will be held during the warmer months, hopefully less layers will be required this year. The event will take place on Friday, 8 May. The competition is a Texas Scramble format over six holes comprising of teams of four. Food will be served from 8.00pm with golf to commence from 9.30pm or as soon as it is dark! The cost for the evening is £10 per person (to include food).
Quiz Night - Tim Cattaneo will be hosting his second Quiz Night on Friday, 1 May after the great success of his maiden outing. Again, the sign-up sheet can be found on the notice board in the entrance to the clubhouse. Teams of six will compete over several rounds to be crowned champions; the event is open to members and non-members. The quiz will start at 7.30pm with the cost including home cooked food from Chef Radek at £10 per person.
