Hi all and a happy New Year!
I hope you had a great break and are now readyto start the New Year on the course, the daysare getting longer! Not by much but they are…. Ihad the pleasure of meeting Simon, the new HeadGreenkeeper just before Christmas, if you seehim please go say hello. I am sure, like us, heis looking forward to some dry weather so he andthe team can get out on the course and get it into a shape that we all enjoy.
4 Club Challenge - On Monday,28 December this fun competition was played. Some people say they play better with less clubsin the bag as you don't have a choice, not surehow true that is, maybe I should try dropping afew?! Simon Brant won the event with 35 pointsand in second was Ian Martin with 32.
New Year's Day Plate- The New Year brought a change in the weather, well at least to start with. Frost met us at theclub when we turned up, it was a small butwilling bunch of golfers that set out with nowind and a bright start. The wind did pick upand the later groups did get wet as it startedto rain again. Charlie Mayhew won the event withan impressive 39 points including three blobs ona boggy course. In second place was Lee Prestonwith 35points and rounding out the top three wasPete Mullet with 34.
Thanks for reading and happy golfing,
