I'm pleased to report whilst writing this week'snewsletter, the golf course and club has startedto return to normality. After a very frustratingstart to 2016 with incredibly heavy rainfall, weare currently have all 18 holesopen with full greens in play.Unfortunately, I'm sure we will see more rainover the coming months before spring arrives butthe Greenstaff have been working hard to try andimprove the problem areas on the golf course.

On that note, I would also like to take to thisopportunity to welcome Simon Lambertto the Hassocks family. Simon started as our newHead Greenkeeper last month and despite the wetweather, has already made an impact. He hasspent most of his time improving the drainageand water flow on the golf course; this hashelped the recovery rate of the golf course fromthe wet weather.


 

Indoor Callaway Demo Day 

I'm delighted to announce we are holding ourfirst Indoor Demo Day. The launch of our SwingStudio at the end of 2015 has meant that we nolonger need to wait for the good weather toarrive to hold our Demo Days, which are alwaysso popular amongst the golfers at Hassocks.

Timed perfectly to coincide with the launch ofCallaway's latest clubs (please see more below),we will be holding the Demo Day on Friday,12 February from 11:30am to4.00pm - appointment only.

New Product - Callaway Golf

Lastweek Callaway officially announced the newfamily of XR 16 clubs,available from January 29, 2016. The newproducts include the XR16 driver, XR Pro 16 driver, XR 16 fairwaywood, XR Pro 16 hybrid (pictured here) and XROS irons.

For the XR 16 driver, Callaway's boffins intheir R&D team worked with aerodynamicsexperts at Boeing to redefine what is possiblewith clubhead speed and aerodynamics in a golfclub. They have engineered the most forgivinghead shape ever and the specialists at Boeingmade it fast with a re-engineered Speed Step. Inaddition, the XR 16 driver also features thenext generation R*MOTO Face that is lighter andup to 19% thinner, creating even higher ballspeeds.
