Cleveland Wedge Analyser  

Did you know that 65% of shots are from within 125 yards of the green when you play golf? This stat clearly shows the importance of a good short game.  

Another stat for you - 45% of all shots (excluding putts) are with a wedge. Therefore this makes your wedges the most important clubs in your bag. 

Now a question - Have the most important clubs in your bag been custom fitted? I'm assuming the answer is probably no, we now have the answer. 

Last month we took delivery of the Cleveland Wedge Analyser. The device is attached to the shaft of a wedge and connects to an iPad via Bluetooth to give exact information about your performance whilst swinging the wedge. The device records information relating to your angle of attack, swing speed and shaft lean at impact. From this data it calculates what wedges you should be using - loft (combination of wedges), bounce and grind.

I have extensively tested the equipment and I think it is fantastic and have been very excited to start using it during custom fit sessions.

Wedge fitting has always been a complicated procedure to get exactly right - Cleveland have completely changed this.

Shop Changes 

Over the last week we have made several alterations and improvements to the shop. We are always trying to keep things fresh for you our customers, with the latest equipment but also displays.  Although, we do try to avoid the annoyance Tesco creates when moving things around!

Brighton Junior Golf - JOLF Sessions   

JOLF coaching has now been running for 2 weeks and everyone has had a great time. Each weekend on a Sunday afternoon we run 3 sessions 2pm - 3pm for children in KS1, 3.15pm - 4.15pm for children in KS2 and 4.30pm - 5.30pm for children in KS2/3. New children that have never attended before will be most welcome to attend a FREE taster session.

May Mid Week Stableford 

Congratulations to Andrew Glover who won the May Mid Week Stableford on Tuesday, Andrew returned a truly fantastic score of 45 points. Hot on his heels with another brilliant score was Jason Goodman with 42 points. Scott Kemsley completed the top with 40 points. Very well played to you all.

Unsurprisingly with all the good scores returned, the competition standard scratch reduced by one shot to 68. Despite this, all of the top three had their handicap reduced. Following his superb performance Andrew had his handicap cut from 11 to 9.


Kemlsey Cup Words from Greg Kemsley - General Manager at Hassocks GC

Thank you to all that participated in the first Bank Holiday Kemsley Cup. The competition was held over 3 days, allowing all competitors to play any time throughout the day and weekend. The competition was won by the best Stableford score over the 3 days plus we had prizes for the winners each day. There was a great turnout for all 3 days and some even better scores. I hope everyone enjoyed the different format of the weekend.

Custom Fit Success 

A personal congratulations to Rob Chamberlain who has recently purchased a new set of custom fitted clubs from us. Rob had never been fitted for a set of clubs before and we made several alterations to the set-up of his clubs, including length and lie. Rob was one of the first members or customers to use the Cleveland Wedge Analyser too, clearly the new clubs are working well!
