Last Thursday the Seniors Section held their annual Invitation day, with the weather excellent and the golf course in fantastic condition the scores were very impressive. There was a photo finish to this exciting event, three pairs tied on 75 points and the final positions decided by count back. 1st place went to Norman and Doug Whiting, second went to Malcolm Olliver and Ian Bourton with third going to Steve Agar and Norman Connolly. July Results
The July Stableford winners were Amanda Warren in Division One and Elizabeth Range in Division Two. Division One in the July Medal was won by Judith Leeves, with Maureen Roberts taking Division Two. Unfortunately we lost 2-1 away to Pyecombe and 3.5-0.5 away to Lindfield in July. Kathy Sage won the Crawford Challenge Cup.

The group stages of Division IV matches have now been completed. Hassocks ladies finished 5th out of 12 teams, only missing out on best runner up spot by one point. This would have qualified us for the knockout stage. Well done to everyone who played this year.


Ladies' Club Championship
There was a good turnout for this year's Ladies' Club Championship. On a sunny but breezy day, 14 ladies played over 27 holes. The gross winner for the 5th year in a row was Nikki Henley (pictured below), with Ann Austin runner up. The nett winner was Judith Leeves (pictured below), with Janet Ridden runner up.

   

Lady Captain's Day 
23 ladies played in the above event on 30th July. We enjoyed lovely weather with a fun format of golf and buffet afterwards. The overall winner of the Audrey Lowe Rosebowl for the day was Rosemary Bettridge (pictured here with our Lady Captain). The Division 2 winner was Elizabeth Range.

Jardein Memorial Salver 
Nikki Henley and Ann Austin were our representatives at this year's event played at Eastbourne Downs Golf Club on 31st July. On a breezy day the pair achieved a fantastic 6th out of 49 pairs, an excellent result.

Congratulations to the Junior Team who won the home leg of the Dockerill's Brighton Junior League. The team members were Will Potter (Captain), Lloyd Durrant, Lucan Durrant and Jake Gabell.

 The team produced a very strong team performance to win comfortably; the excellent performance has taken the juniors up to 3rd place in the league standings. Special congratulations to Jake Gabell, as he also won the individual prize on the day with an incredible score of 47 points. Jake won the individual prize by 8 points, and his handicap was reduced by 2 shots from 18 to 16 in the process.
