Autumn Meeting
Eight Ladies entered the Autumn Meeting with the Ladies taking part in the main competition draw with the men. Something I know the men and ladies all enjoy. The competition on the day was won by Janet Ridden with a score of Nett 68. Pictured is Janet Ridden collecting her trophy from Ladies Captain Sally Johnson.
Charity Cup
The ladies's Charity Cup was won by Kathy Sage with 41 points. On the day we collected £64 pound for charity and raised a further £12 from the sale of socks kindly donated by Joy Bellamy.
Summer Singles
This year's summer singles final was between Kathy Sage and Madi Habens, Madi being the winner.
Charity Fund Raising
Finally I would like to report that the total raised by the ladies in this charity year was £763.15, a fantastic effort from a small section. Many thanks to all who contributed.
October Mid Week Stableford
Ant Martin claimed victory in the October Mid Week Stableford played on Tuesday. Ant posted a score of 41 points, a fantastic score in the changeable conditions experienced at the start of the week. Rob Temple-Smithson claimed second place, losing out by a single point. Paul Gumbrell finished in third with a score of 38 points.
Ant's handicap has been reduced by 1 shot to 22 (21.7). Congratulations to Ant who's handicap has been reduced from 27 to 22 since mid may.
Double Rollover
For the second mid week competition in a row no 2's have been scored. This means a double rollover will take place on Tuesday 21st October (October Mid Week Medal).
October Medal
Congratulations to Duncan Brant who won the October Medal last Saturday. Duncan returned a fantastic score of Nett 63 to comfortably win the competition by 3 shots from Wade Ayling. Steve Baugh completed the top three with a round of 67, and he claimed third place on count back from Charlie Mayhew.

The balance of good scores and bad weather meant the competition standard scratch remained unchanged at 68. Following his exceptional score Duncan had his handicap reduced by 2 shots to 18 (18.2). Six 2's were scored during the competition. Nick Griffin, Charlie Mayhew, Greg Kemsley, Graham Snelgrove, Mike Trowbridge and James Wheeler shared the pot. Each player winning £12.66.

Winter Arrivals
Unfortunately it appears the Indian Summer has now finished. A change in the dress of the golfers playing at Hassocks has definitely occurred, gone have the shorts (except for Laurie Cassar!) and the light weight summer shirts being replaced by jackets and winter accessories.
How is your winter clothing looking from last year? In need of freshening up?
Over the last week we have taken delivery of a large selection of winter clothing and waterproofs from Sun Ice, adidas, ProQuip and FootJoy. Come in store and see what we have to offer. No excuses this winter!
