Parafix Winter League
Last Sunday Hassocks played their second game of the Parafix Winter League. Unfortunately, the team suffered defeat away at Singing Hills, the end result finishing 4-1. However, the score line does not reflect how close the match was, with two matches going to the 18th hole.
Following two away matches and two defeats, Hassocks will be hoping to record their first victory at home to Lindfield on Sunday, 9th November.
The match results from Singing Hills were: Ian Martin/Mark Simmons lost 5&4; Steve Baugh/Matt Roberts lost 2&1; Danny Burchell/Paul Mayes won by 1 hole; Tom Aye Moung/Mark Page lost 6&5 and Greg Kemsley/Howard Lloyd lost by 1 hole.
Richard Copeland Golf Day
Past Captain Richard Copeland Celebrated his birthday at the Golf Club last Saturday with 40 members and guests taking part in a 4BBB competition. The weather on the day was perfect for the time of the year and with the golf course in great condition, a fantastic day was had by all. The day was won by the pair of Greg Burt and Rikki Hawkins with a score of 43 points, a great score from a handicap allowance of three-quarters.

Winter PING Demo Day - Thurs 27 Nov 2014
Winter Ping Demo Day For the first time ever we are holding a demo day during the winter months. After the recent launch of the PING G30 equipment (click here to learn more about the G30 range), we are holding a PING Demo day on Thursday, 27th November from 10.00am to 2.00pm.
This is the perfect opportunity to try and be custom fitted for the latest equipment from PING. To book a custom fit appointment please click here.
The PING G30 driver has crown 'turbulators' in the 460cc head to help generate greater club head speed and ball velocity for consistently longer drives that find the fairway. The new T9S face material is strong, lightweight and thin, optimizing face deflection for even higher ball speeds and longer drives. With Trajectory Tuning+ Technology, you can fine-tune launch conditions using five settings and 2 full degrees of loft adjustability.
Pace of Play Survey
The R&A is interested to hear the views from golfers around the world on this issue and has compiled a survey with this in mind - click here to take the survey from The R&A.
One of the hot topics in golf at the moment is pace of play. Pace of play is affected by many factors, including player ability and behaviour, management practices and course difficulty and set-up. Many commentators argue that golf nowadays takes too long, that slow round times are driving people away from the game and that something needs to be done. Conversely, others would say that golf is not a race, that not everyone wants to play in a hurry and that some courses are just not capable of being played in less than four hours.
