How is it already this time of the week? Apologies for the shorter content again this week, I will be getting back to my usual content soon but things are just crazy at the moment. I thought I would show you some before and after shots of the shop at Pyecombe. In the space of a couple of weeks there has been a massive transformation which is where a lot of my time has had to be devoted to.
Don't forget about our Scotty Cameron putting event coming to Hassocks on Friday, 3 July. Between 12.00noon and 4.00pm you will have the chance to come and try the latest putters from Scotty's range - more on this range can be found here. If you are interested in coming along please come and see us in the shop.
Also, this Sunday is our Srixon sponsored competition - every competitor receives a sleeve of Srixon balls for FREE!
Sat 6 Jun - Leading the way in our June Medal was Charles Mayhew with a solid round of nett 68, one ahead of two golfers on 69. Countback was needed to decide the runner-up, with Howard Lloyd edging out Nigel Swinscoe courtesy of a better back nine.
Tue 9 Jun - Matthew Platt's 40 points saw him finish ahead of the pack in the Midweek Stableford. This was enough for a two point victory over runner-up Greg Kemsley and third-placed Dennis Warner, both on 38 points. Matthew can be seen pictured here.
Tue 16 Jun - Our Midweek Medal saw two golfers finish with brilliant nett 66s to end up at the top of the leaderboard. Taking top spot after countback was Simon Friend whose 66 (gross 72) pipped Paul Gumbrell's. Third place on the day went to Steven Fisher with a nett 68.
What's your worst ever score on one hole?
We've all had card-wrecking scores that ruin a medal round, but Russia's Andrey Pavlov notched up a 17 on the par-five first during his second round at the Austria Open at the weekend, which included finding the water hazard six times! Unsurprisingly, he followed that with a bogey - although he took just four shots on the second.
We're not poking fun; rather using this unfortunate example to help make this point: we can help you avoid your own card wreckers.
Whether it's preparing physically and mentally for that challenging opening tee shot, how to approach a shot over water, or how to best manage the course, our lessons are for all golfers, regardless of skill level. Are you fed up with one big score killing off your medal chances?
We want to help you enjoy better golf and shoot lower scores - so click here or come in to ask about a lesson, or course of lessons. In the meantime, spare a thought for Pavlov; he never quite recovered from that opening hole.
