The confidence of youth
How nice it was to see the British Mastersreturn to our TV screens over the weekend. Morethan 57,000 spectators attended the event overthe four days, and the crowds were treated tosome top-class golf. If the numbers through thegates were impressive, how about the tournamentwinner? Matt Fitzpatrick, 21, completed awire-to-wire victory in the kind of manner you'dexpect from a player with twice the experience. He showed composure beyond his years, and twoareas of his game stood out, particularly duringthe final round.
Firstly, his accuracy off the tee; he was by nomeans the longest, but he would prove true theold adage 'Driving is for show, putting is fordough'. In finding the fairway more often thannot he let other areas of his game do thetalking. He would have been forgiven forsuccumbing to the nerves down the stretch buttime after time he holed clutch putts, and atpace, the ball hitting the back of the cup withauthority.
How does your game hold up to tense situations?Come and see us over the winter for somecoaching to give yourself the best opportunityfor success in 2016 - getin touch here.
Hopefully the young man's performance inspiredyou to get out and play. It was certainly niceto see so many young fans attending the golf, sowell done to Mr Fitzpatrick and co for inspiringthe next generation
